We accept submissions from agents, previously published authors (including self-published authors) with long backlists, first-time writers with only one book under their belt, and anyone in between. We pride ourselves on the passion and dedication we pour into each and every book we publish.

WHAT WE PUBLISH

• Our favourite genres include contemporary uplit, spicy grump-sunshine, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, cosy village romance, beachy escapes, time travel romantasy, sweeping historical sagas and WWII romances, spicy happily-ever-afters, and gripping women’s book club fiction. We also love psychological thrillers, suspense and domestic noir.
• We want to read #OwnVoices submissions that bring characters who represent the same marginalised identities as their author, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBT+ and differently abled people, people living in underrepresented cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, and more. We encourage authors from diverse backgrounds to submit their work and make their voices heard.
• We especially look for great stories, fresh ideas, excellent writing and original voices; in short authors who say something interesting about the world as they see it.
• We publish writers we believe in, from debut novelists and agented authors, to self-represented writers and authors who are already well-established.
• Submissions are welcome from anywhere in the world, however, we only publish books in the English language.
• We accept submissions from agents, previously published authors (including self-published authors) with long backlists, first-time writers with only one book under their belt, and anyone in between.

We do NOT publish non-fiction, poetry, YA fiction, children's fiction, sci-fi or erotica. If these are your genres, we are probably not the publisher for you.

GETTING PUBLISHED:

• Your full-length book (minimum 60,000 word count) attached as a .pdf or Word .doc (Word .doc preferred).
• The completed submission form, including a 3-paragraph synopsis in the body of the email and what genre you see your book belonging in.
• 100 words about yourself in the body of the email and where you heard about Choc Lit.
• The words CHOC LIT SUBMISSION in the subject line of your email, so that it reaches the right people.

We will be in touch within three months if your submission is of interest. During this window, please only get in touch if you have an offer from another publisher or if you have signed up with a literary agent. Most submissions are reviewed by our Tasting Panel of independent readers.

Please note: we receive a massive amount of submissions. We read every one and would love to be able to respond to each, but we simply don’t have the resources to do so. If you don’t hear from us within three months, please assume that your submission is unsuccessful. Do not be disheartened if you don’t hear from us. What is not right for us may be exactly what another publisher is seeking. We encourage you to look for other opportunities to publish elsewhere.
